Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 373

Sunday, August 28, 2016

Hi there, happy Sunday!
It is time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is The Greeting Farm

Oh my goodness!!!
Isn't this the most awesome, fun theme ever!!?
Not to mention this cupcake looks so yummy...:-D (and I don't really eat cupcakes!)
Alright, here is my take...;-)

Do you ever wonder why we card makers concentrate so much on the front, and not so much on the inside? I do like to leave a lot of room to write messages but why not make the inside more pretty too? Right!!? *LOL*

I had just gotten this new Little Fairies set, it is super cute!!!
I don't know why, but this fairy made me think of Tinker Bell (I know, that's so not her hair do!) so I "borrowed" Tink's colors ;-) She was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, colored with my Spectrum Noir Markers then fussy cut (they do have a matching die set). I made my own stencil with the smile die and used the embossing paste. Gold dots were added with my gold gel pen, just like pixie dust!

Here is the inside.
So basically I felt like I was making 2 cards *LOL*
This could totally be the front of your card, right!?
I stamped this cute fairy and the mushrooms with memento Black Ink, colored with the Spectrum Noir Markers, and white dots were added on the mushroom tops and her wings. Yeah, my little purple mushroom is a bit messy... I find using the colorless blender VERY difficult!

This lovely sentiment was heat embossed with Pool Party, and the dandelion with white and Gumball Green. I added some more pixie dust here as well.
I have to say, this part is my favorite! *LOL*

*my notes*

Stamp: Little Fairies (The Greeting Farm)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Newton's Nook Designs Pick-a-Pumpkin Set - Naki Rager

Summer is getting closer to an end, it's kind of sad but I love fall!

Newton's Nook Designs Pick-a-Pumpkin Set - Naki Rager

This was my first time inking up these lovely pumpkins, and I am totally in love with them! Look at the woodgrain on the gold one! Beautiful!
Some gold thread was placed between the pumpkins for some texture ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Pick-a-Pumpkin Set - Naki Rager

I have a lot of burlap, was going to do so many projects with it but so far, I've done a few of them...*LOL* The burlap, lace trim, and ribbons were all sewn together right onto my kraft base. Copper sequins were sprinkled all over the card for some sparkle, and to add one more fall color ;-)

The Mixed Media Card Challenge

Thursday, August 25, 2016

Hey there lovelies!
It's been a long time since I played along with a challenge just for fun!
Here is one of my favorites, The Mixed Media Card Challenge!

A rainbow theme is always fun!
Who doesn't like pretty rainbows!?
Here is my take ;-)

I LOVE how this card turned out!
Actually I've made a similar card before, but I like this one better ;-)

I love this candle stamp from the Kathryn's Big Wishes set by STAMPlorations, it is so cute!
The candle image was stamped on watercolor paper then water colored with rainbow colors. This little sentiment "make a " was stamped all over the front panel, and I tore the top then distressed the sides and bottom.
I very lightly applied embossing paste randomly over a stencil also.

I die cut the wish sentiment from black, yellow, green, and blue cardstock, then they were mounted on each other slightly off so the colors are visible. The panel was sewn onto the red and white polka dot patterned paper. It was then matted on my base card, and a few gold stars were added.
I.LOVE.IT.!!!

Newton's Nook Designs

Tuesday, August 23, 2016

Hello there, happy Tuesday!
I am up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog today ;-)
I had just found out that my only girl cousin (on my mom's side) is pregnant!
So I wanted to send her my love ;-)

The Wild Child set is such a sweet, sweet set and I LOVE it!

I picked this super adorable penguin mama and her baby image because
#1 Umm, they're just too cute!
#2 My cousin is due in February
I stamped the image with Memento Black Ink, then colored with Spectrum Noir markers.
Seriously, it is SO MUCH FUN to color with them but it is TOTALLY different from watercolor!
I'm pretty stubborn so it'll take me a while to get used to them...*LOL*

The patterned paper behind the mama and baby is one of my Christmas packs, isn't it just perfect!? The silver snow paper is actually acetate on white base, so pretty!
I love my baby cousin, she was born and raised here in the US but she used to visit us in Japan with her dad (my mom's baby brother). Our family is in Japan and France, so we're the only cousins here in the US, girls gotta stick together, you know! I am so very happy for her :-)

*my notes*

Stamp: Wild Child (Newton's Nook Designs)
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray, Silver Glimmer Paper, All is Calm DSP (SU!), Acetate Pad (We R Memory Keepers)
Ink: Spectrum Noir Markers
Tool: Die-namics Zig Zag Rectangle STAX (My Favorite Things), Scripty Word Die (Your Next Stamp)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Here is my take...;-)

I love how this turned out!
Isn't this just the sweetest!!?

The sponsor very generously provided us a few digi images to work with, thank you!
But I purchased this cutie, Winston Bear Etty Shy myself (long story...lol)
I LOVE their adorable, fuzzy bears! just so sweet!
I colored this one with yellow, just like beloved Pooh bear ;-)
I am starting to really enjoy my alcohol based markers! (so I ordered more...lol)

This beautiful patterned paper is from the Winnie Sugar Sprinkles Paper Heaven 4 bundle that the sponsor gave us ;-) I love it!
A sweet, sketchy heart for a sweetheart ;-)

A few white sequins were sprinkled all over the card, perfect!
This card was really fun to make!
Fussy cutting the bear wasn't the easiest but it was totally worth the effort!

Here is my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Hedgehog Hollow Set - Naki Rager

They are such sweet images, I wanted to make it look like a children's book cover ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Hedgehog Hollow Set - Naki Rager

I stamped this sweet, sweet hedgehog with a cute little ladybug with Sahara Sand on watercolor paper. It was water colored with my Stampin' Up reinkers. This was such an adorable image just stamped, but it was like they came to life after getting colored in!

Newton's Nook Designs Hedgehog Hollow Set - Naki Rager

I enjoyed this month's new release and I think this cutie is my favorite of all!
I mean, look how sweet and innocent it looks!!! :-D
I just love it!!!

Newton's Nook Designs Hedgehog Hollow Set - Naki Rager

Okay, now my second card with this cutie!
Did you wonder why I only made one card with the Beautiful Leaves Set on day2?
Well, here it is, I couldn't share til today! ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Hedgehog Hollow Set - Naki Rager

This little hedgie sitting in a tea cup is just too adorable!
I heat embossed the image with my glittery, light gold on glossy white cardstock, then again on watercolor paper. I fussy cut the water colored hedgie then paper pieced on the glossy one. The gorgeous leaves were also heat embossed with the light gold then water colored. Those rich fall colors certainly look beautiful with gold, don't they!?

Newton's Nook Designs Hedgehog Hollow Set - Naki Rager

I also heat embossed the sentiment "thankful" from the Beautiful Leaves set on vellum. I love this light gold emboss powder but it is not very visible on light colors. I mounted on snippet of orange ribbon but still can't see in the photos :-(
This fun background was made with this pierced circle die, isn't it awesome!?

Newton's Nook Designs August Release - Newton Dreams of New York & Coordinating Die

Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Hi there, happy Wednesday!
Welcome to Day3 of the Newton's Nook Designs August Release!
All the new sets will be available for purchase this Friday the 19th, all you have to do is to visit the Newton's Nook Designs Shop and pick what you love!
Today We're sharing this super adorable set along with the matching die called "Newton Dreams of New York".
Are you ready for some serious cuteness!?

What a lucky kitty he is...
He travels all around the world, and this month, he is in NYC!
I love visiting Manhattan :-)
Okay, here is my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Dreams of NY Set - Naki Rager

I was born and raised right outside of Tokyo, so tall buildings and busy asphalt streets are all I knew growing up. When I was a teenager, my friends and I would spend all night in Tokyo til the time for the last train of the day to get home. So naturally, big city reminds me of night outing;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Dreams of NY Set - Naki Rager

I just couldn't resist coloring the lady Liberty kitty!!!
How cute is she!?
She was heat embossed with antique photo emboss powder (it looks copper) then colored with Spectrum Noir Marker. I used 2 shades of gray and dark green to make it look like the real statue.

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Dreams of NY Set - Naki Rager

These building are amazing!!!
I heat embossed them with silver, colored them with my silver colored pencil (it is surprisingly shimmery!), and the windows with the gold glitter pen. I die cut 2 extra buildings from the same black patterned paper to give some shadow behind them.

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Dreams of NY Set - Naki Rager

Pretend you're standing on Liberty Island visiting the lady, and look over the sea to view the city at night. The ocean is sparkling from the reflection of the street lights, you might see a few stars in the sky, the buildings are lit up... love it!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Dreams of New York Set - Naki Rager

Well of course I had to make another card ;-)
This yellow cab is so stinkin' cute!
It actually drives through the busy city...check out the below!

I heat embossed the gorgeous images on these fall colors with clear emboss powder then die cut them all (love it!). They were all adhered overlapping one another like they're all falling from trees. Such a beautiful sight, right!?
